Here’s to being a STRONG WOMAN…

                  Been watching King Woman by Kemi Adetiba and I must say I’ve been inspired by each and every woman’s story that has been shared. Yes they are all very successful now but they’ve been through soo much, surely the one hour that they spend sharing their story isn’t even half of everything they’ve been through. For me the series has really opened my eyes to what it really means to be a strong woman. 

                   Their resilience is absolutely mind blowing, like it or not there are women who have helped make our lives easier just by standing their ground. Now woman can do soo much because of those who went ahead and fought for us to have a voice and for the freedom to express ourselves. Just as we are also breaking barriers for the generations to come. 

       I often cringe at the saying “women support women” because as much as it’s  all over social media in reality it’s a very rare thing, there usually isn’t that much support. I remember complaining about it soo much, even before I started blogging and I concluded that I would just do me and face my own because I felt like it was a waste of time. 

             A very interesting concept I must say “I’m gonna just do me” allowing experience to shape us can be a blessing and curse because what happens when you allow experience to completely change who you are. You are strong woman because you did not allow experience and life itself to break you/your spirit/ to change your identity, you might have cried a few times that doesn’t make you weak because you still carried on. 

      I constantly remind myself “Jen  Never let your circumstances determine who you are going to be, you be the author of your story, you fight for your destiny”. I remember when I was in university my first year to be more specific , there was this hype about “PROVERBS 31 woman” and I never ever bothered to study the chapter until this year and I’ve noted 3 points that really stood out to me, some are quite obvious tho but here; 

• She’s energetic, strong and hardworking vs 17
• She’s clothed with strength and dignity she laughs without fear of the future vs 25 (she’s confident in God, so she’s not scared of whatever might come her way because she has a clear vision) 
• She speaks with wisdom vs 26 ( this one made me excited; she doesn’t talk anyhow, she’s very cautious with her words, she speaks life into people, she builds other women up with her words doesn’t take pleasure in bringing them down)

I want to encourage you to be STRONG 💪🏾, to keep going no matter what life throws at you. Also study proverbs 31 yourself and get your own revelation of what it means to be a strong woman or a Proverbs 31 woman. So here’s to being a woman who knows who is she, a woman who builds others up with her words, a woman who is not intimidated by other women’s success but instead is inspired.
