The Bigger Picture …

             Will you give up a lot of things you hold on to right now if you could see what the future holds? Will you need to be constantly begged to chase your dreams or to do the things that you need to do in general. Will you trust God completely if you could see what’s in store for you? Many of us are too busy focusing soo hard on what’s going on right now that we can’t imagine the bigger picture.

             Trusting God completely when we have no clue what he’s up to can be hard and I guess many times that’s when we snatch back the remote control of our lives. I get it tho, there’s this safety in knowing what’s going to happen next, the assurance or certainty that comes with knowing can be comforting, but you need to ask yourself do you really trust God completely if you always know what’s happening next?

              Have you ever heard the song Oceans by Hillsong? There’s a part in the song that says “Spirit lead me to where my trust is without boarders” , it’s basically saying lead the way I trust you completely and I remember for a while everytime I sang that song I used to keep quiet when I got to that part because I felt like I wasn’t ready to completely let go and to give into that kind of trust. But whose plan is actually better to trust? Surely it couldn’t be mine because He’s the only one who sees the bigger picture and we might not always understand that, but we need to get to a place where we trust Him completely.

              The bigger picture starts to form when we trust Him, that’s when you start to see why He said no to that plan and why that relationship didn’t work out and why that door closed or why that job was given to someone else even if you could have done it way better. The Bible says He makes all things work together for our good and that also applies to when we can’t see how He’s going to do it. I know it’s not easy, trust me I’m still learning, even as I write this I’m scared of letting go but I know He’s got me.

Check out these scriptures;

  • Proverbs 3 vs 5 -6

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.”

  • Habakkuk 2 vs 3

“This vision is for a future time. It describes the end, and it will be fulfilled. If it seems slow in coming, wait patiently, for it will surely take place. It will not be delayed.”

  • Jeremiah 29 vs 11

“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”

Thanks for stopping by 🙏🏾💙.

  1. When I saw this I wanted to just like and go away because I wasn’t in the best of moods. But after reading this article I’m rest assured that God is truly involved in me not getting that job and I’m trusting him totally to sort me out. Your article was very timely because I was mopping about being disappointed when I thought I ready had the job… Ocean is a song that sends chills down my spine every time I listen to it. Thanks Jenny for this.

  2. Sigh, how true is this! If only we know what He’s got in store for us, we’ll readily give it all to Him. I think the problem is the fast-paced society we live in, where inactivity is seen in a negative light. We just wanna keep moving, sometimes without knowing where we’re heading.
