Hey Guys!!! Two posts in one week (what’s happening you might be wondering lol) a lucky bunch you are. I wanted to share briefly on “being patient with yourself” self reflection has become extremely important to me (I think it’s because I’m getting older) and I have to say I’m not the most patient person at all in general.

I’ve always been hard on myself from as long as I can remember, if I practiced something once and didn’t get it “why can’t I get this right ” Lmaoo a good example would be when I was in university and I started learning about make up. I remember it took me ages to learn how to do my eyebrows 😂😂😂😂. I used to always complain about how I can’t just get it and my friend (bless her heart) would always say “Jen calm down, you will get it eventually. Then when I was learning to contour that was another Dramatic moment and also when I was learning how to use eyeliner I reckon that was the worst one 😂😂. My point is being impatient with yourself will only create unrealistic expectations which you cannot meet and will only make you feel worse about yourself.

 

So here are three things I would like to say;

1. You accomplish nothing by tangible by being impatient, it will only lead to frustration, so be compassionate to yourself. Yes show yourself some compassion because you deserve it. I have found that the more patient I am with myself the more I cut others some slack (better relationships with other people).

2. You are building resilience and perseverance in yourself. You are becoming exactly who you are purposed to be, you are allowing yourself to grow.

3. Lastly, you will be able to manage your emotions and also that would help you be stress free, it will enable you to make better decisions about your life.
